Advocates of the Deaf culture approach don't view a hearing loss as a medical or physical problem. Instead, they view it as just a normal variety of human experience. This view is associated with remediation and educational approaches for the deaf child that do not rely on medical or technical approaches to improving the child's hearing.
The medical/physical approach to deafness leads to a completely different set of approaches for remediation and educational.
